BACK STORY…
Bella Swan was nothing but an ordinary girl for the first *sixteen years of her life…until she moved to Forks and met Edward Cullen and his family of immortal beings, more commonly known as vampires. The Cullens introduced to Bella a new world of supernatural proportions, and Edward alone introduced her into a world of love, romance, and unconditional adoration. However, Bella soon learned that love with a vampire was even more dangerous than it seemed. Besides the fact that her own true love could accidentally kill her at any moment, against his own judgment, there was more than just him and the Cullens in the society of vampires. She soon met a trio of nomadic immortals, who soon discovered the unprecedented relationship between Edward and his Bella. The malicious James and his mate, Victoria, set out upon the most sadistic game of cat and mouse ever played, where the stakes were as high as Bella’s life and those she loved. Luckily, the Edward and his family got to James first, and destroyed him. Victoria remained vengeful, but seemingly quiet.
The summer passed without disturbance, leaving Edward and Bella in the throes of their love. However, on her eighteenth birthday, an incident occurred that would change everything. An innocent paper cut led to one of the Cullens, Jasper, nearly launching himself at Bella. Edward realized that his world was too unsafe for his beloved Bella, and left her, along with the rest of the Cullens. Bella was demolished, so heartbroken that she just barely held herself together. After months, she found solace in Jacob Black, a tall and gangly boy of *fifteen from the nearby La Push reservation, whose father was a long-time friend of Bella’s. Though she was hardly complete without her Edward, Jacob was able to fill the void, distracting her, filling in her holes, temporarily giving her warmth. Unfortunately, this friendship was never to remain so convenient. Bella and Jacob a painful phase of detachment, through which Bella hardly prevails. During this period of time, she met Laurent, former companion of James, in the woods. He attempted to attack her, but was chased away by massive, mysterious wolves that had been rumored to be lurking in the woods. Soon after this incident, Jacob reconnected with his friend and revealed to her that he had undergone an interesting and horrifying transformation: Jacob was now a werewolf. He, and several others from his Quileute tribe, were supernatural protectors, protectors from the cold ones, creatures like the Cullens. As Bella partially adjusted to this revelation, two unfortunate circumstances led to the Cullens believing that Bella had died. Edward, who had, of course, never stopped loving Bella, and never planned to outlive her, planned to go to Volterra, the city that housed the Volturi, whose self-appointed purpose was to keep the immortal lifestyle a secret, and manage all vampires in the world so that they might do the same. Edward planned to reveal himself in the sunlight, exploiting the secret so that the Volturi would kill him. Bella and Alice raced to Volterra to save Edward, and did, but not before tempting the Volturi. Aro, one of the Volturi’s three leaders, was especially intrigued with the love relationship between a human and a vampire. To ensure that the immortal secret be kept a secret, the Cullens were forced to promise to change Bella Swan into an immortal, and soon. The Volturi would be watching for them. The reunion between Bella and Edward was to remain permanent and impermeable.
Shortly after the reinstallation of Bella and Edward as a couple, and the Cullens’ return to Forks, things were not going well. The wolves and vampires were still not on good terms, despite the fact that Bella was now in between both sides. Jacob was upset with Bella, but still allowed himself to see her, despite his better judgment. Edward did not approve of Bella’s relationship with the wolves; it was unsafe, as the werewolves were close to as dangerous as the vampires. Yet, Edward felt so immensely guilty for leaving her that he let her pursue the relationship. Bad news was to come soon. It was discovered that a large group of newborn vampires had been let loose in Seattle, uncontrollable and lethal. Events would lead up to the eventual discovery that Victoria was forming a newborn army, planning to defeat the Cullen and primarily Bella in her quest for revenge. She wanted Edward to feel the same loss that she had experienced when he had destroyed her mate. To protect Bella and the citizens of the area, the wolves and vampires made a truce, and learned to fight. When the attack was made, shortly after the end of the school year, Victoria and her army of newborns were defeated by the wolves and Cullens. Jacob professed his love for Bella, and was ultimately rejected. Bella loved Jacob, truly, but nothing could eclipse the passion she felt for Edward.
AND NOW…
It has been two months since the battle against the newborns. Things are back to normal between the werewolves and vampires, if not friendlier. Seth Clearwater, in particular, has been openly friendly with the Cullens. Jacob has just returned from a brief spat as a runaway, in his angst over Bella’s rejection. Edward is pushing for marriage, Bella wants to be changed into a vampire, and neither will give in.
Out of nowhere, it seems, covens of vampires much like the Cullens are arriving in Forks. They have heard of Bella and Edward, of the turmoil’s the coven has recently encountered ultimately because of the pair, and are curious. First arrive the coven from Denali, Alaska, friends of the Cullens. They apologize for not aiding the Cullens in their time of need, for the battle. They were afraid. Their sister Irina remains in Alaska, brooding over her lost friend, Laurent. Next come the Alexanders, and then the Fords; both covens are “vegetarians” like the Cullens, but have never resided permanently in one place.
UNTIL NOW.
With four covens in the small area of Forks, things certainly begin to get interesting, especially when school begins for the vampires that are young enough (physically) to attend high school. Forks High is now populated with more beautifully mysterious creatures than ever before, a fact which does not go unnoticed by only the students.
Who should arrive of Forks’ humble doorstep but the Volturi? They are curious at the new population of immortals in this small but convient area, and investigate. In the meantime, the Cullens are worried why the Volturi have yet to acknowledge the fact that Bella is still human. What will be the fate of all of these vampires, the humans in the area, and the fact that with an increase of vampires will come an increase in werewolves?
THAT’S WHERE YOU COME IN.
